Summary: Global warming issues have been razing the world with construction sector as the main contributor. The world over there is search for eco friendly materials and technologies in the construction sector, so as to put a cap on carbon emissions while still keeping a reasonable pace of development. Bamboo, has been a major construction material traditionally and with all the advancements in the sector fits the bill perfectly . It is ecological and economical ,and very much a social material. Most of the people practicing Sustainable architecture and development face severe dearth of authentic data, compiled information and guidance in designing and executing their projects. This is even more apparent for Bamboo as a material of contemporary construction. This has been the biggest hurdle for people to use bamboo in their buildings and in Mainstreaming bamboo in the building sector. Lately, a lot of awareness has come about the usage of Bamboo in the building sector with several architects, engineers, designers etc wanting to use bamboo in their projects. But even today, there is no comprehensive book on Construction with Bamboo that can help and guide the building professionals .
